Qualifying conditions for a Georgia medical card

The Georgia Access to Medical Cannabis Commission (GA MCC) has approved the following medical conditions for a medical card:

Cancer

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)

Epilepsy/seizure disorders

Multiple sclerosis (MS)

Crohn’s disease

Parkinson’s disease

Sickle cell disease

Tourette syndrome

Alzheimer’s disease

AIDS

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

Intractable pain

Additionally, Georgia law allows a physician to certify patients for a medical card after diagnosing them with “other medical conditions of the same class.” This means that patients with conditions that are similar to the qualifying conditions listed above may also be eligible for a medical card.

To qualify for a medical card, patients must also be 18 years of age or older and have a valid Georgia driver’s license or identification card.
