Georgia Medical Marijuana Card FAQ
How old must you be to get a Georgia medical card?
Patients must be eighteen or older, with a recent diagnosis of one (or more than one) qualifying health condition to apply for a Georgia medical card. Minors require a registered parent or guardian caregiver before they may participate in the MMJ program.
How often do I have to renew my Georgia medical card?
The MMJ card in Georgia must be renewed every two (2) years for the patient to purchase and possess products from a licensed dispensary. However, patients are required to schedule an annual follow-up appointment with the physician to review or update the recommendation.
If a medical card expires, the patient must re-apply and receive a new recommendation from a licensed doctor. And pay the registration fee again.
What if I lose my Georgia Medical Card?
Patients must contact the Georgia State Office of Vital Records (404) 679-4702 and press Option #4 to request a replacement medical card. There is a $25 charge to get a new Georgia medical card.
